Excitement as Asda colleagues get engaged in Hamilton store

There was excitement at our Hamiliton store recently when Asda colleagues Andrew Frost and Samantha Gilfillan got engaged!

I wanted to do something a bit different - she had no idea

Security colleague Andrew, 25, proposed to Checkout Section Leader Samantha, 23, in the store’s security office in front of their fellow colleagues – and happily she said yes!

Andrew said: "Samantha had no idea I was going to propose! I decided to propose at work because it’s where we met and I thought it would be nice to do it in front of our friends. I wanted to do something a bit different as well.

“We’ve been together for four years and we met at work when Samantha was a Christmas temp and I trained her on the tills.”

Colleagues on the security team helped Andrew plan the proposal, managing to keep it a secret for a number of months.

Andrew said: “Security section leader Lee and I had been planning it for two months and we let the other security colleagues know a couple of weeks ago. They helped me decorate the office with banners and balloons.”

“I love Samantha very much and I’d like to say thanks to Lee, Tracey and Alan for all their help in helping me organise the proposal.”

Congratulations to both Andrew and Samantha - we wish them all the best with their future.
