Asda scoops 8 accolades at the ‘FreeFrom Food Awards’

You could say we’re feeling pretty ecstatic right now, as seven of our tasty ‘Free From’ products won awards last night at the FreeFrom Food Awards 2017.

We were also awarded the Silver accolade for Best Retailer of the Year 2017!

We were also awarded the Silver accolade for Best Retailer of the Year 2017 after our seven of our products received a total of 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze awards.

The awards celebrate excellence in the ‘free from’ food industry and champion all great products. All the products that are entered into the awards have to be free from at least least one of the main major allergens such as wheat/gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soya and sulphites.

On Tuesday night, our gluten and dairy free Free From Salad Cream won a Bronze award in the Best Free From Store Cupboard Product category and our Free From Quiche Lorraine, which has no artificial colours and artificial flavours, won a Silver award in the Meaty and Fishy Ready Meals.

But it was in the Best Free From Product Designed for Children category where we really excelled.

All three of our products shortlisted in this category won. This included our gluten and dairy free Chocolate Party Cake, which won Gold, our gluten, wheat and dairy free gingerbread men, which won Silver and our Free From Jammy Wheels which was awarded a Bronze award.

Judges said that our Chocolate Party Cake was ‘brill’, our Jammy Wheels were ‘just like the normal ones’ and our Free From Gingerbread men left the judges ‘wanting more’.

We also won a Bronze award in the Best Free From Tea Time Product, with our Asda Free From Stem Ginger Cookies. And we got a Gold for our Asda Free From Cream Filled Chocolate Profiteroles and our Extra Special Free From Easter Egg scored a Bronze in the Confectionery and Chocolate category. Yum!
