The track all One Direction fans have been waiting for has finally been released.
"In the least weird way possible, it’s my favourite album to listen to at the moment"
Harry Styles dropped his first solo track 'Sign of the times' today after his debut single was played out on BBC Radio 1.
Speaking to radio host Nick Grimshaw about his new work, the One Direction star said: "We just wanted to make what we wanted to listen to, and that has been the most fun part for me about making the whole album.
"In the least weird way possible, it’s my favourite album to listen to at the moment… I hope we did a good job but I really like the album so I hope people like it."
He added:"It’s a bit weird, I feel like I’ve been hibernating for so long now and you hear it in the safety of the studio and now it’s time to give birth … it’s the song (sign of the times) I’m most proud of writing."
Last month, on March 26 - which marked two years to the day since Zayn Malik announced he was quitting the band - Harry revealed the date of when his solo material will drop.
The much-awaited news came when a teaser trailer aired during the semi-final of The Voice.
The mysterious promo video showed a rather wet-looking Harry in a dark and smoky room, walking towards a light shining through the door. Once he opens the door, he looks up and then the date of April 7th flashes up.
The One Direction star is following in the footsteps of his former bandmates Zayn, Louis and Niall who all embarked on their solo careers in 2016 releasing singles like Pillow Talk, Just Hold On and This Town. These singles came after the group said in March 2016 they would be going on a hiatus.
Since then, Harry signed his own record deal in June 2016 and has also been kept busy by completing his big-screen debut in Christopher Nolan's war thriller, Dunkirk, which is set to hit the cinemas this July.
