What to wear on Christmas Day: 3 ‘costume’ changes to see you through the big day

What's your family's Christmas day dress code?

For some, it's all about relaxing in your cosiest clothes - you might even get a new pair of pyjamas or comfy trousers from Santa to wear on the big day.

For other families, it's the perfect excuse to dress up in your finery, with plenty of glitz and glamour.

Whether you prefer to spend all day in your PJs, get your glad rags on for an elegant family lunch, or chill out in your Christmas jumper and matching leggings, George has plenty of festive fashion to inspire you.

And if you want to do all three, we've got all the 'costume' change ideas you'll need for a very stylish Christmas.

Christmas morning

The morning of the big day is all about sitting around in your pyjamas, unwrapping gifts, sneaking the odd sweet out of the tin and starting on the Christmas dinner.

So, why not treat yourself to a new pair of festive PJs for the occasion?

This George polar bear sequin top and fleece bottoms, worn with a cosy pair of matching grey slippers will keep you warm even if we do get a white Christmas (fingers crossed!)

Alternatively, there's always that polar bear onesie you've secretly always wanted. Don't even try to deny it.

Christmas lunch

Now is your time to sparkle - particularly if you're the one who's been tasked with feeding the masses and you've spent the morning wrestling with a turkey.

This flattering V-neck black jumpsuit can be dressed up with some glittering heels and sparkling accessories (such as gold chunky necklace) without seeming over-the-top. Plus, it's really comfy and you'll be able to wear it again and again.

Or, how about this gorgeous metallic midi skirt

Pair it with this lightweight Bardot jumper, which can be worn off-the-shoulder and some strappy black heels, to pull off the ultimate domestic goddess look (whether you cooked the turkey or not!)

Christmas evening

After a festive feast with extra helpings of roasted spuds and dessert, all you want to do is head to the sofa, stretch yourself out and get comfy. This is the time to pop on your Christmas jumper and festive leggings.

Stay snug on the settee in this embellished slogan Christmas jumper and reindeer knit leggings (well, if you can't wear a reindeer knit on Christmas day, when can you?)

If you've got guests coming for the evening and you want to dress up a little, then you could opt for some sparkly skinny jeans and a festive shirt, or knit.

So that's all your outfits sorted - now you only have to worry about is where you're going to sit everyone.
