Loo Roll Carol Singer
Turn your old loo rolls into quirky Christmas characters with just a few crafty bits...
LOO ROLL SnowMen
YOU WILL NEED:
- An empty loo roll
- Scissors
- Black paint and felt tips
- Glue
- String or cotton
HOW TO:
- Paint the outside of your loo roll white or wrap it in white paper.
- Use black paint or felt tip pen to draw on the eyes, mouth and buttons.
- Use orange coloured card to cut out your carrot-shaped nose. If you don’t have card you can draw or paint this on.
- Draw on a scarf or make one out of a strip of coloured paper and glue on.
- Make a loop out of string, and glue or tape this on the inside of the loo roll.
- Hang your snowman on your Christmas tree.
TURNING NEWSPAPERS INTO CHRISTMAS TREES
YOU WILL NEED:
- Newspaper
- Scissors
- Felt tip pens
- Glue
- Coloured paint
- Empty kitchen roll tube
HOW TO:
- Paint or colour your newspapers green.
- Draw around your hand with a pencil or pen – you’ll need quite a few (about 12).
- With the help of an adult, cut out your handprints and set them aside.
- Glue the palms of your handprints (fingers facing down) on to a kitchen roll tube starting from the bottom to build up your tree.
- Decorate your tree however you like using scraps of card, tissue paper or blobs of coloured paint.
- Display your homemade Christmas tree with pride!
MAKING FESTIVE CHAINS OUT OF OLD WRAPPING PAPER
YOU WILL NEED:
- Old wrapping paper
- Glue
- Scissors
HOW TO:
- With the help of an adult, cut the old wrapping paper into strips about 14cm long and 2cm wide.
- Create a loop out of one of the strips, overlap the ends and glue or tape together.
- Thread another strip through the middle of the loop you have already made and glue or tape so that you have two loops linked together.
- Keep making the loops to create a long chain.
- Decorate your tree or drape around your room to add some extra Christmas cheer.
