According to the British Nutrition Foundation over half of people in Britain are overweight or obese, and about 1 in 4 adults are obese. Being overweight can increase the risk of developing diseases including Type 2 Diabetes, coronary heart diseases and other cancers.

So whether you’ve recently packed on extra pounds or have always dreamt of a Victoria’s Secret model’s bikini body, it’s time to take action.

Here are our favourite body-sculpting Pilates and cardio workout routines to help beat the bulge. Get stretching!

WORKOUT 1: FOR PIPPA MIDDLETON'S PERT BOTTOM

This fun workout targeting your lower body, bottom and thighs reshapes your lower body, builds lean muscle and speeds up the rate you burn calories – yes, please!

Warm up with a balance of muscle building and heart pumping moves including arm swings, leg kicks, lunges, squats, calf-raises and jumps.

Up the ante by repeating the same exercises but alternating them with leg lifts and back bows to create toned legs and a perky butt (to up the challenge add dumbbells). Don’t forget the all-important warm down stretches to alleviate some of the burn.
