The first week of university truly is a rollercoaster – away from home, surrounded by new and interesting people, a whole new city to explore, parties to attend and plenty of domestic tricks to figure out.

At first, it’s just pure excitement - what an adventure!

While some bits are scary (making new friends – eep!), the rest are serious amounts of fun.

But if you’re the parent of a teen heading off to uni this September, it can be tricky to know just what they’re thinking.

So, we’ve rounded up 12 thoughts and feelings everyone has in their first week of uni, to help give you an insight into what’s going on in those excited brains of theirs...

At first, it’s just pure excitement - what an adventure!
