Return to Wonderland with the new ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ trailer

Stop the press – the new 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' trailer is here! Debuting during the Grammy awards on Monday night, the trailer looks intriguing enough to capture the imagination of both adults and children alike, but it also showcases what we now know is Alan Rickman's final performance. Sob!

In the trailer, Alice (played by Mia Wasikowska) comes face to face with butterfly Absolem, voiced Rickman before he died in January. The return of Rickman's distinctive voice will be bittersweet for many as he declares:  'You've been gone too long Alice... and do mind your step.'

Based on Lewis Carroll's iconic characters and following on from the 2010 film, Alice in Wonderland, it has been many years since Alice last visited Wonderland in this new instalment. In the trailer Alice returns through the looking glass to find her friends – however, all is not what it seems. Alice soon discovers that she must travel back in time to save her friend, the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and in order to do so has to come face to face with the master of time himself – a new, rather sinister character played by Sasha Baron Cohen. Will Alice prevail? It looks like her time may be running out...

Although the film is under a new director, James Bobin, fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the new film remains entirely true to Tim Burton's earlier outing. And with all the main cast returning, plus some exciting new characters, you can bet on one thing – it's going to be amazing!

Alice Through the Looking Glass will be released May 27th in both the UK and US. In the meantime, why not try whet your appetite with Asda's Truly Alice party supplies?
