Ever since Disney announced the live action remake of its classic children’s movie Beauty and the Beast back in 2015, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for a trailer so that we could get a glimpse of Emma Watson (Harry Potter) in the role of Beauty (aka Belle). And for fans everywhere, the wait has seemed like forever.
But good news! The first official teaser trailer for the film was finally released yesterday – and it's just as magical as we hoped. Not only do we get to see the depths of Beast’s mansion, but we also come face to face with Beauty herself, as she gazes at a very familiar rose.
See the magic for yourself in the trailer below:
Doesn’t Emma make a stunning Belle? Maybe she is the one, indeed!
In case you aren't familiar with the original story (where have you been?!), Beauty and the Beast follows the tale of bright, beautiful and independent Belle, who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and makes herself at home as she starts to learn that there may be more to the Beast than just his hideous exterior...
Although we don’t get to see the Beast in the trailer, we do get to hear two of our other favourite characters, the candlestick Lumiere and the clock Cogsworth, played by Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen respectively, as they discuss our heroine’s arrival to the castle. Of course, Watson, McKellen and McGregor are just some of the star-studded cast set to make up the new film, including but not limited to: Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs Potts, Josh Gad as Le Fou and Kevin Kline as Belle's father.
Just check out this star studded picture the cast shared from the set:
We don’t know about you, but we are super excited for the next glimpse we get into Belle’s world.
Beauty and the Beast opens in cinemas 17th March, 2017. You can pick up the original Beauty and the Beast, plus all your favourite Disney films at Asda in-store and online, including the recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
