Who would have thought that the man behind Gavin & Stacey would be a Hollywood smash? James Corden has been hosting The Late Late Show from Los Angeles since 2015 and along with dazzling guests, live music and plenty of laughs, it's the carpool karaoke segment that has earned rave reviews for the show and its host.
For those who haven't seen it (where have you been!?), carpool karaoke is the part of The Late Late Show where James drives around LA, picking up musical guests who then proceed to sing along to their songs in the car. Carpool karaoke guests have included Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Madonna, One Direction and there was even a carpool karaoke session from London featuring none other than Adele! These hilarious and entertaining segments have garnered millions of hits on YouTube and it's not hard to see why. Take a look at some of our favourites – including singer-songwriter Bruno Mars who graced James' passenger seat this week.
Carpool karaoke's first outing certainly started on a high note, with singing legend Mariah Carey sitting in the passenger seat. “I'm not singing today,” she says before breaking into the doo doo doos of smash hit 'Always Be My Baby.' Brilliant.
The four-time Grammy winner added plenty of fun and funk to the car, as he hilariously taught James some of his dance moves, including ‘the sprinkler’ and rolling your shoulders while licking your lips. Bruno also told James that all he needs in his dressing room are booze, water and wet wipes - which James decides would makes an excellent album title!
When American mum Candace Payne purchased a Chewbacca mask and posted a video about how much she loved it, the video went viral with over 100 million views in just a few days. James Corden loved the video so much, he invited Candace on the Late Late Show and introduced her to Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J. J. Abrams, plus filmed a special Chewbacca-themed carpool karaoke.
Zayn may have left One Direction for good, but we reckon that James Corden could be an excellent fifth member...
In quite possibly the best husband move ever, James Corden doesn't just sing along with Stevie Wonder but he also gets Stevie Wonder to call his wife, Julia, and sing 'I just called to say, James loves you...'.
Did you know that Adele is a massive Spice Girls fan? And that she can rap? It's true! Prepare to be amazed...
James Corden and Justin Bieber take a trip down memory lane singing along to Justin's early hits, Baby and Boyfriend. Extra bonus? Watching Justin Bieber do a Rubik's cube in less than two minutes.
As if hanging out with the queen of cool isn't enough, just wait until six minutes into the video when two A-list actors make a surprise appearance!
Ever wonder which celebrities are friends with each other? It turns out that J-Lo has a VERY impressive phone book. James Corden can't resist using J-Lo's phone to send a hilarious text (which gets a hilarious reply) to none other than Leonardo Di Caprio!
The only thing better than seeing rock legend Rod Stewart singing his classics? Having A$AP Rocky sitting in the backseat.
Justin Bieber, Part 2
Justin Bieber loved singing with James Corden so much that he had to come back for a second round!
Red Hot Chili Peppers
When the Red Hot Chili Peppers came on The Late Late Show, they had no idea what they were getting themselves into. Not only did they find themselves taking part in an actual wrestling match, but somehow everyone also ended up shirtless. You'll just have to watch it to find out how.
