Good news for Cold Feet fans - the gang are back together again and will be appearing on our screens this autumn! The hit show about a group of friends in Manchester is set to return after a 13 year hiatus with a special eight-part reunion series. And as if that's not exciting enough, ITV have now released a trailer to tease the show's comeback.
The BAFTA-winning series began in 1997 and ran for an amazing five series. Fans of the comedy drama loved following the long-term friends as they went through life's up and downs of relationships, parenting, love and everything in between. So what can we expect from the new series? The new Cold Feet TV clip doesn't give much away, but it's certainly exciting to see everyone together again! In the trailer, Adam, played by James Nesbitt, is on a flight home to Manchester. As he dozes off, he wakes to see all his friends around him - Jenny as a flight attendant offering him a hot towel, Pete sitting right next to him, Karen popping up from the seat behind and David appearing dressed as a pilot. Watch the Cold Feet TV clip below and see what happens...
That's right - actors Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris, John Thomson, and Fay Ripley will all be reprising their roles as Pete, Jenny, Karen and David. Absent from the show will be actress Helen Baxendale, whose character Rachel was dramatically killed off in the final series. However, producers have said that a special tribute episode has been planned for Adam’s late wife, Rachel.
The special reunion series will pick up with your favourite characters 13 years on, with the introduction of one new character, Radio 1 presenter Ceallach Spellman, who will play Matthew, Adam and Rachel’s teenage son.
Creator Mike Bullen told What’s On TV, “This feels like the right time to revisit these characters, as they tip-toe through the minefield of middle age!
“They’re 50, but still feel 30, apart from on the morning after the night before, when they really feel their age.”
We don't know about you, but we can't WAIT to see what the gang get up to next! Catch new episodes of the Cold Feet TV show on ITV this autumn. And if you're feeling nostalgic and can't wait until then, check out Asda's collection of TV series for more oldies but goodies.
