See David Walliams As You’ve Never Seen Him Before!

Snozzcumbers! Fizzwhizzing! Snapperwhippers! If you love Roald Dahl, you have to see David Walliams take on one of the author's most beloved characters, The BFG, in this charming new video. Filmed in aid of Roald Dahl Day last September, it's perfect viewing for the upcoming World Book Day (March 3rd). The short video shows the actor, comedian and children's writer dressed up as the Big Friendly Giant and reading the well known story of his adventures with Sophie the human.

In this extract the BFG is teaching Sophie how his big ears enable him to hear the dreams he catches, so he can label their bottles correctly:

If you think the kids will love to follow in David's footsteps and dress up as the BFG for World Book Day (who wouldn't?!), Penguin's new paperback version of the Roald Dahl classic comes with make-your-own BFG ears, so that they too can hear dreams. Pair them with this BFG costume from George and they'll be the envy of all their friends!

In even more great news for BFG fans, there's a live-action adaptation in the works by director Steven Spielberg that will be released this summer. And if you haven't read David Walliam's newest book Awful Auntie, don’t forget to pick up the paperback version – in store now.
