‘Girl on the Train’ author Paula Hawkins is releasing another book

Fans of The Girl on the Train rejoice! Author Paula Hawkins is back with another page-turner that's set to be released next year.

The author's debut novel, Girl on the Train became a total publishing smash last year, with millions of people all over the world caught up in the dark and mysterious story of Rachel, a troubled alcoholic who spots something strange happening from the window of her train.

The gripping thriller sold over 18 million copies worldwide and was recently transformed into a Hollywood blockbuster starring Emily Blunt.

Now fans of the book (and the film) have something new to look forward to, with Paula Hawkins recently announcing that her second book is set for publication next spring.

Titled Into the Water, the new novel follows the story of two sisters who live in a small, riverside town. Described as a story about 'a family drowning in secrets,' it sounds like readers should expect the same gripping dark storylines and dramatic twists that made Paula famous.

"This story has been brewing for a good while," Hawkins told The Telegraph.

"For me there is something irresistible about the stories we tell ourselves, the way voices and truths can be hidden consciously or unconsciously, memories can be washed away and whole histories submerged.  Then two sisters appeared, and the novel began to form." Sounds intriguing...

"Into The Water is incredibly dark and moving. Only Paula Hawkins could have written it," Lizzy Kremer, Hawkins’ literary agent, said in a statement. "It is an unflinching and original book that is both a terrific thriller and a beautiful novel."

Into the Water is set for worldwide release on 2 May 2017. Mark your diary now!
