The Great British Bake Off aired its final episode on BBC One last night, prompting fans of the baking show to flood social media with their emotional farewells.
Candice and Jane have reportedly already set out on their own baking tour of the country!
As P.E teacher Candice Brown was crowned the winner of GBBO 2016, viewers couldn’t help but notice the bittersweet nature of the finale, given that it’s the last time original line-up - Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc - will appear on the show together (apart from the BBC Christmas special, of course).
Following tense negotiations, Bake Off creators Love Production announced in September that they would be moving the show to Channel 4, with a reported £75 million three-year deal.
Then came the fallout.
Mel and Sue were quick to denounce the move, adding that they wouldn’t be ‘following the dough’ to Bake Off’s new home, with Mary Berry confirming shortly afterwards that she also would be stepping down as a GBBO judge.
Though Paul Hollywood will be sticking with the Bake Off, his new co-stars are yet to be announced, leaving fans in flux as to what to expect next from their beloved Wednesday night show.

I don't think I could love Bake Off more. It's just been so lovely for years and I don't want this episode to finish. #GBBO— Philippa Warr (@philippawarr) October 26, 2016

Despite fans’ concerns for the future of GBBO, however, Channel 4 have assured the nation that they’ll be sticking to the winning format and warm-hearted nature of the family-friendly series, rather than trying to ‘spice things up’.
A planned schedule for the 2017 series has yet to be released, however.
In the meantime, BBC One appears to have found a brand new baking show to potentially fill the GBBO void - it’ll focus around a hunt for the country’s best family of bakers - while Candice and fellow contestant Jane Beedle have reportedly already set out on their own baking tour of the country!
Whether they’ll be filming the tour for a spin-off show of their own is yet to be confirmed, but we truly do hope so.Asda.com.
