Have the perfect Hollywood night in with your friends and family

It’s time to dust off your little black dress and get the sparkling fizz in, as one of the most glamorous awards of the year takes place this weekend.

Don't forget to get grab some party poppers, party hats and bubbles

Hollywood's finest will get together and celebrate all the greatest cinematic achievements over the past year on Sunday February 26th, at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood and Highland center in Los Angeles.

Hosted by talk show presenter Jimmy Kimmel, a whole host of our favourite film stars - who'll be dressed in the finest designer outfits - will take to the red carpet in the hope they'll clinch the iconic gold accolades.

Will the captivating Meryl Streep win her 20th award after she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in comedy drama Florence Foster Jenkins? Or how about Hollywood musical La La Land, scooping all 11 awards in the 11 different categories it was nominated for?

Oh the suspense!

All the action kicks off at midnight in the UK, with the actual ceremony beginning at 1.30am.

Although it's unlikely that we'll be staying up to watch the whole thing, it's the perfect excuse to host your own Hollywood party. Invite your friends round on Saturday night, pick out your favourite award-winning films, pop open a bottle of bubbly and pretend you're Emma Stone! Here are a few ways to create the ultimate film-inspired night at home...

Glitz up your house

Give your home some red carpet appeal by adorning your house in gold everything. You could blow up some gold confetti balloons, light some small candles, and hang some gold bunting by the front door. You could even try making your own walk of fame by getting the kids to cut out and create large gold stars on the floor of your entrance hall or living room. And to really help your guests get into the party spirit, don't forget to get grab some party poppers, party hats and bubbles too!

Dress for the occasion

You don't have to be adorned in designer gear to dress to impress! For those dressing up for the occasion, grab a little black dress, pair it with some metallic heels and you'll be ready to go. Or, if you're having a chilled night in with a movie, invest in some slippers, leggings and a cosy blanket

Eat like kings and queens

Make a movie-night feast! Grab the pizzas, stock up on the nachos and dips and make sure you don't forget the popcorn! You could even pull out all the stops and whip up this incredible popcorn-loaded sticky toffee cake. You can even pick up a hot takaway pizza from your local Asda store*

Watch the nominees in preparation

The awards don't actually start until midnight in the UK, which means you'll have a few hours to kill before it starts. So whether you're hosting the get together on Saturday or planning to stay up until the early hours to watch the ceremony, get into the swing of things by watching some films for all the family.

You could catch up on the award-winning Max Mad or nominated Hell or High Water. To keep the little ones entertained, put on Disney favourite, The Jungle Book, or the hilarious Trolls. For the big kids at home Kubo and the Two Strings will go down a treat.

Make a toast to the winners

Make a toast to the winners with this gin and lemonade sparkling cocktail? Or raise a glass with some Progrigio. Ooh fancy!

Crack out the party games

Before the show begins, make your own award predictions by creating a ballot on who you think will win in each of the categories. You could also entertain your guests with a fun award trivia quiz with fun questions about each of the nominees. Or why not try playing winning speech bingo?
