Always wanted to go on a safari but never quite made it to Africa?
London Zoo has launched Gir Lion Lodge, a quasi-safari for adventurous spirits looking for an experience that’s a little unusual.
Guests can stay within roaring distance of the lions at the Gir Lion Lodge, which is hidden away within the Land of the Lions development.
But don’t worry, the collection of nine plush cabins are a respectable distance from the lion enclosure – giving the lions their space, and the visitors some peace of mind!
The lodge interiors are inspired by the lion’s native Gir Forest home in India, and guests staying at the lodge will also enjoy three tours of the zoo (sunset, torch lit and morning) plus two-course dinner and full-English breakfast, as well as entry into the zoo on both days.
The fully hosted experience will run six nights a week right through to December, with designated family-friendly nights offering activities for children, and of course adult-only nights for those looking for peace and quiet.
