The Oscar Nominations Are In!

Awards Season is well and truly under way! With the Golden Globes taking place last Sunday and the full list of Oscar 2016 nominations being revealed today, Hollywood is having its moment.

Will Leonardo, who has never won an Oscar before, finally get his chance to shine?

So who’s up for an Academy Award?

Among the Oscar nominations are major A-listers including Leonardo DiCaprio (who, unbelivably, has never won before), Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lawrence and of course Eddie Redmayne, who’s no-doubt hoping for a repeat performance of last year, when he won Best Actor for his portrayal of Stephen Hawkin in The Theory Of Everything.

Box office hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens, family favourite Inside Out and stunning novel adaptation Carol, starring Cate Blanchett, are all up for an award too, though the film with most Oscar nods is new Leo flick The Revenant, with a whopping 12 nominations.

Mad Max: Fury Road is in the running to sweep the board too, with a total of 10 category nominations, while Matt Damon’s The Martian comes in at third place with an impressive seven nods.

Has your favourite star or film of the past year been considered by the Oscars 2016 panel? See the list of nominations below and don't forget to check back to find out who won what at the star-studded event on 28th February 2016...
