Is it a fluffball? Is it a cloud? No it's Eric, the Pekingese dog!

You have to see the dog that’s taken Crufts by storm

From Boo the Pomerarian to Dagger the fox-cross, we all love a fluffy pooch. That's why the internet collectively went crazy at this year's Crufts when a very special Pekingese took to the stage for the Best in Show category. The dog to end all cute dogs, you ain't seen nothing until you've seen this pup!

Eric looks like a cross between a pain au chocolat and a lion, but the seven-year-old pedigree is in fact a Pekingese from Dumfriesshire in Scotland and has a mane of hair to be reckoned with.

Here he is in all his glory:

Have you ever seen anything like it? It's as if they covered Eric in glue and let him roll around in a mountain of fluff! But that couldn't be further from the truth as this Pekingese would never be allowed within 100 metres of a pot of glue. Eric is one high maintenance pet - and with that much hair it's not hard to see why. His handler was trying to tame his amazing fur until the very last minute, posting this picture to prove it:

Although little Eric didn't actually win the Best In Show prize, he did scoop the Best in Group for Toy Breeds gong, as well as winning the nation's hearts as soon as he stepped onto the infamous Crufts carpet. His proud owner, Easdon told the Kennel Club: 'Eric is a fantastic dog with a great character. I was going to retire him but decided to bring him back and this is his first show since Crufts last year. He's a beautiful, sound and happy dog. After all these years I still get a real thrill when one of my dogs wins.'

After becoming an overnight internet sensation, we predict that this won't be the last you see of the adorable little fluffball. Thanks Eric for brightening up our day (and giving us serious hair envy)!
