First look at Poldark series two trailer!

Calling all Poldark fans! The creators of the much loved TV series over at BBC One have finally unveiled a first peek of series two in a brand new trailer, and it looks good. But that's not all: we've also finally got a confirmed date for Captain Ross Poldark's return!

“I fought for our liberty. For our hopes, for our dreams. And I'll keep on fighting, whatever the cost.”

And in even better news, if that's possible, series two is set to hit our TV screens a lot sooner than most people expected...

Based on the novels by Winston Graham, Poldark series one took the country by storm _ and it wasn’t just thanks to that scything scene. The drama, the romance, the tension, the views of Cornwall’s stunning seascape – we can almost feel the wind in our hair when we see Aidan Turner up on his horse, galloping along the clifftops.

So obviously, we’re all incredibly excited about the arrival of series two. However, all may not be going so well for Poldark this time around. The trailer flashes between images of Aidan Turner in battle one moment and wearing shackles the next, with his voiceover telling us:

“I fought for our liberty. For our hopes, for our dreams. And I'll keep on fighting, whatever the cost.”

Following the plot of the third and fourth Poldark books, series two is set to see tensions run high as Ross struggles to deal with his daughter’s death, as well as more drama from the love triangle set up between his wife Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) and ex-fiancee Elizabeth (Heida Reed), who both appear in the trailer.

So when can we expect it all to unfold? Sunday 4th September 2016 is the date for your diary, folks!

But until then, here’s the hotly anticipated teaser trailer…
