JK Rowling’s Harry Potter Sketches Are Truly Magical

It’s been quite the year for author JK Rowling. First, she published four new stories on Pottermore to tie in with the much-anticipated film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is set to hit our screens in November, then ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ was released to critical acclaim, and then as if that wasn’t enough, the author recently announced that her personal Harry Potter archive is set to go on display next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It's been one wonderful wizard surprise after the other. But now the magical author has gifted fans with yet another new Harry Potter treat.

JK Rowling recently announced that she will be releasing three new collections of wonderful wizarding short stories on fan website Pottermore on September 6th, plus revealed a series of previously undiscovered sketches on the site. The drawings are all originals by Rowling herself and depict various scenes from the world of Harry Potter. The illustrations are scattered throughout the site and apparently appeared at an unknown date. See some of the incredible sketches below, starting with Professor Snape teaching a potions class.

Here’s Harry looking into the Mirror of Erised.

And Professor McGonagall scolding Peeves.
