10 ways you can have a party as epic as Pippa Middleton’s wedding

This weekend Pippa Middleton is set to walk down the aisle and tie the knot with James Matthews (aka the bro of MIC’s Spencer Matthews). There will be the finest bubbly on offer, the most anticipated bridal dress of the year, magnificent food spreads and probably jewel-studded table decorations. Let's hope the weather is kind!

If the sun is shining this weekend why not get your friends and family over and party just like Pippa.

Cut the cake

You can pick up one of our celebration cakes, and make everyone watch as you cut into it…

This drip cake is perfect for feeding a crowd and would look pretty impressive on a cake stand. It comes in a chocolate flavour too - ideal for those chocolate fans.

The popular ‘cheese’ cake trend is still going strong. So why not create a showstopping cheese tower for dessert. Brie-lliant!

First dance

You can recreate a pretty good dance floor at home. All you need is music and some empty floor space. Why not explore our CD collection and see which chart topper you can have as your ‘first dance’. Ed Sheeran and Take That are pretty popular wedding dance options!

Then you can take the party in to proper cheese mode with the new Steps album!

Dress up nice

Summer parties call for loose-fitting floaty dresses like this halter-neck dress. Floral and tropical prints will be everywhere this wedding season, and comfy heels like these stiletto courts are a must if you’re to survive a whole day. If you’re outside you may want to think about a lightweight jacket as well.

Wedges and block heels are ideal for wearing in grass to avoid that ‘sinking’ feeling.

Put on a banquet

Ok, so a three course sit down meal with speeches might be pushing it to recreate at home, but how about a sharing banquet instead?

Pizzas, quiches, skewers and sausage rolls are perfect for easy catering. Pop in the oven then let people serve themselves. Don’t forget a few salad bits to add some colour to your spread.

Fizz and bubbles

No mock wedding would be complete with some bubbles! Our delicious but inexpensive Progrigio is perfect for kicking off a party. But you could also try Prosecco, sparkling rose, or – if you’re feeling like a proper Middleton, pick up a bottle of Champagne.

Table decorations

We love searching Pinterest for beautifully dressed wedding tables. You could dress up your home and dining table with plates, napkins, flowers and even offer mini favours. How about putting one of these macarons on each person’s place setting? And don’t forget the ballons – these clear confetti balloons are perfect for a wedding party.
