Fancy tucking into bird pie, beard pickings or worm spaghetti? These are just some of the disgusting dinners that Roald Dahl’s Mr and Mrs Twit like to eat and now you can, too!
A new immersive theatre experience based on the famous tale The Twits is coming to London. The interactive dining experience is being created to celebrate what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday this year. In case you've forgotten about the author's nastiest tale, here's a quick recap: the Twits are a horrible couple who like to play terrible tricks on each other in their brick house without windows. The Twits do all sorts of horrible things, like making monkeys stand on their heads for hours and coating branches with glue in order to catch birds for bird pie. Hideously ugly and mean, the Twits might just be Roald Dahl's most disgusting characters ever!
Participants of the Dinner at the Twits event are invited to step inside the Twits’ windowless house and enjoy a menu of grotesque treats while watching a 90-minute show. Created by experimental chefs Bompas & Parr and interactive theatre experts Les Enfants Terrible, diners will receive a banquet of ‘deliciously disgusting dishes’, as well as Mr Twit’s ‘special brew’ and Mrs Twit’s ‘potent punch.’
Described by organisers as ‘the worst dinner party in the world,’ this disgusting feast is strictly for adults only (the show is recommended for those 16 and older, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). The dinners will take place at The Vaults underneath Waterloo station in Waterloo from 4th September to 30th October. Find out more and get tickets here.
