Here’s how you can cook Christmas dinner alongside GBBO’s Nadiya Hussain

Let's be honest, out of all the Great British Bake Off contestants, Nadiya Hussain will always be one of our faves.

Not only did she pull the funniest faces, she had the measure of Paul Hollywood, and that winning speech had us all in tears.

So, who better to invite into your home this Christmas?

Well, she won't actually be going round people's houses, sadly, but she is cooking Christmas dinner in real time on the radio - and she's invited everyone to listen in and cook a festive family feast alongside her.

In a two-hour Christmas special for BBC Radio 2, recorded exclusively in her kitchen at home, Nadiya will be cooking up a storm.

She will create a meal for the whole family to enjoy, from her salmon kedgeree, to her gingerbread cake, especially for the show. And the great thing is listeners will be able to make the entire menu at home!

The recipes will be available on the Radio 2 website ahead of time, so people at home can get the ingredients ready and cook along with Nadiya there to tell you exactly what to do next.

As she cooks, co-presenter Olly Smith will be chatting to her about her life, her family and, of course, her baking. He'll also be mixing up a non-alcoholic punch for the whole family to enjoy.

Plus, the pair will be playing their favourite songs while your dinner cooks, making a playlist fit for a Christmas feast!

And Nadiya says she can't wait to get going.

'My birthday is on Christmas Day so it’s always a big day in my house as we usually all gather for a huge feast!' she told the BBC.

"It’ll be great fun giving Radio 2 listeners lots of tips and recipes as they prepare for the festivities, plus I’m really looking forward to welcoming Olly to my home”.

Nadiya’s Festive Family Feast will air on 21st December at 8pm.

You can either choose to cook along, or just listen, enjoy and take note for your own Christmas dinner.
