Attention cheesecake lovers – you might want to sit down and brace yourself before continuing. A bakery in Scotland is creating the most amazing artistan cheesecakes, complete with surprising flavours, sky-high toppings and plenty of rich, creamy goodness. You may already have heard of loaded hot chocolate and cereal milkshakes, but now cake lovers can get in on the action, too!
Artisan Cheesecakes is a small, Scottish, family-run bakery with one café in Bathgate and another café recently opened in Edinburgh. They serve coffees and teas, but their speciality is their amazing cheesecakes in more than 200 flavours and stacked with delicious toppings.
One of the shop's most popular creations is the Eton Mess cheesecake. Think crumbly biscuit base with a creamy filling and topped with crunchy meringues, soft whipped cream, fresh strawberries and sweet strawberry sauce. The ultimate drool-worthy, summer treat!
Owner Wendy McQueen, her son Mark and their team are responsible for all the delicious creations including some of the more unusual flavours like chocolate & butterscotch marshmallow medley cheesecake and lime, ginger and homemade passionfruit marshmallows cheesecake.

And while these handmade cakes are certainly indulgent, Wendy says that they’re all freshly made and not at all artificial. Even the marshmallows and meringues are made from scratch, and are available to buy in-store. Does that mean we can attempt our own delicious cheesecake creations at home? You'll probably need a bit of practice in order to make your cakes quite so impressive (and sky-high with toppings!), but this dead easy cheesecake recipe is a good place to start.
But if you are in the area, this chocolate salted caramel cheesecake with homemade salted caramel marshmallows is a must-try!
Fancy an apple strudel cheesecake? Erm, yes please!

But the amazing bakery's most popular cheesecake flavour of all is... Scottish tablet cheesecake! Scottish tablet is a grainy, scrummy fudge-like treat and we can only imagine how amazing it tastes on top of a silky cheesecake!
Artisan Cheesecakes also serve milkshakes, made by blending any available slice of cheesecake with ice cream to create quite possibly the creamiest, most delicious (and filling!), milkshake ever. Does it get any better?
If your mouth is watering as much as ours is, and your not able to get yourself up to Scotland to visit Artisan Cheesecakes for yourself, then why not try creating your own cake at home. We've got a carrot & cheesecake tower and blueberry cheesecake to get you started or why not make a classic New York cheesecake and then let your imagination go wild with toppings like hot fudge sauce, homemade chocolate meringues and fresh berries. Be sure to share your creations with us on social media using #goodliving.
