Their latest quest for fabulous flavour took Asda's food innovation team to Mexico, an exhilarating destination full of bold tastes, innovative dishes and mouthwatering new ingredients and methods of cooking. These foodies spent three days trawling through Mexico City's markets, restaurants and streets, all while sampling local ingredients and dishes along the way. While some of these culinary delights might not be to everyone's tastes – like the ant larvae omelette or the 987 day old Mole (chocolate and tomato) sauce – the results of their trip were an amazing explosion of new flavours and plenty of inspiration for tasty dishes, all of which can be seen in an exciting new range of authentic Mexican products due in store soon. But don't worry, you won't be seeing any crispy fried worms or ant larvae on Asda's shelves anytime soon! Chicken & pepper tacos
Mix some fajita seasoning with a little oil and toss in some sliced chicken breast. Heat a little more oil in a frying pan and fry some sliced red onion and some sliced peppers until soft. Add the chicken and fry for 5 mins more or until the chicken is cooked through. Serve in taco shells with shredded lettuce and soured cream.
