Is gin the nation’s favourite tipple?

According to new figures released by the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA), we’ve been drinking record amounts of gin in 2016.

Approximately 40 million bottles of the juniper-based spirit were sold over the past 12 months, which is enough to make a staggering 1.12 billion gin and tonics. Not too shabby!

Not only have gin sales increased over the last year, but there has also been a massive boom in the number of distilleries opening in the UK, with 40 new distilleries opening in the UK between January and November.

Tonic may go hand-in-hand with gin, but that's not the only way to enjoy this tasty herbal spirit. Discover five terrific gin recipes below. Cheers!
