The potato peeling hack you’ll love this holiday season

Ah, the humble potato - an essential part of Sunday's roast and a must-have for Christmas dinner (not to mention fabulous for brunch and perfect for luxurious canapés).

Whether mashed, baked, boiled or roasted, potatoes are a delicious addition to the dinner table. But so many tasty recipes call for potatoes to be peeled - an annoying task that is both time-consuming and hard on the hands, plus wastes a good part of the veg itself! It's no wonder that even the most enthusiastic cook likes to shirk the responsibility of potato peeling.

Enter this amazing potato peeling hack. YouTube user Foody Tube has shared a brilliant video of the simple trick - just in time for the holiday season!

All you need for this brilliant potato peeling hack is a knife, a pot of boiling water, and your spuds. Take the knife and softly cut around the middle of the potato. Now boil the potato as you normally would and once it's done, remove it from the pot and prepare to be amazed as you easily just slide the skin off.

Not only does this clever trick save you so much time and effort, but Foody Tube reveals it can also boost the flavour of your spuds. That’s because apparently a lot of the flavour is in the skin, so by cooking the potato with its skin on, you infuse it with flavour.

Of course, there are plenty of wonderful uses and recipes for potatoes with their skin (like Swedish hasselback potatoes or stuffed baked potatoes), but it's nice to know that there's an easy and fast way to peel them if needed!
