This week (29 October - 4 November) marks UK Sausage Week, meaning it's time to celebrate the tasty bangers in all their glory.
From breakfasts to barbecues and everything in between, sausages are one of the most versatile cooking ingredients. And although they taste great when they're cooked and sandwiched in between two pieces of buttered crusty bread, or heaped on top of mashed potato and gravy, there are plenty more ways to cook with sausages to get the most out of your favourite fry-up staple.
Egg, cranberry and sausage plait
Looking for a new lunchtime dish to serve to friends? This sausage plait, which is basically like a massive sausage roll, is a great way to dish up bangers with a difference. We've made this lunchtime centrepiece by spooning cranberry sauce over ready-made puff pastry, before topping it with sausage meat and hard boiled eggs. Wrap the whole thing up, pop it in the oven and serve with a green salad for a sophisticated lunch that's surprisingly easy to rustle up.
Sausage and mozzarella pizza
If you're a fan of pizza and a lover of sausages, then this tasty creation will soon become your favourite dinner. Making your own pizza from scratch at home is much easier than it looks; simply add some oil and water to our ready-made pizza mix then top with garlic and tomato sauce, sausage meat, mozzarella and basil. Delizioso!
Sausage and spinach gnocchi
Sausages are perfect for throwing into a simple pasta or gnocchi dish to add substance and make a great change to tuna or chicken. This sausage and spinach dish can be on the table in 30 minutes and tastes even more delicious topped with freshly torn basil leaves and a sprinkling of cheese.

Frying off the sausages first adds heaps of flavour, but then it's just a question of getting everything in the pan and cooking through. Rosesmary, garlic and cannelini beans all add to the delicious French flavour of this warming winter dish.
