Ingredients
  • 800g baking potatoes, peeled
  • 1 leek, trimmed and finely sliced
  • 40g butter
  • 325g green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 454g pack Asda Reduced Fat Pork Sausages
  • 1 x 380g carton Asda Baked Beans
Method
  • Pre-heat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Cut the potatoes into even-sized pieces. Add to a pan of simmering water and cook until tender. Drain, return to the pan and leave to stand over a low heat for a minute to get rid of any excess water, then mash.

  • Meanwhile, fry the leek in 25g butter over a low heat for 8-10 minutes.

  • Add the cabbage to a pan of boiling water and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Drain well and pat off any excess water with kitchen paper.

  • Mix the mash with the leek (and the cooking juices) and cabbage, and season. Shape into eight cakes and put on a baking tray. Melt the remaining butter and brush over the cakes.

  • Grill the sausages until cooked through.

  • Heat the beans and serve with the sausages and the bubble and squeak cakes.
