Ingredients
  • 700g cauliflower florets
  • 200g self-raising flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 200ml milk
  • Oil for frying
Method
  • Break the cauliflower florets into small pieces. Steam or boil until just tender, then drain and cool.

  • Mix the flour, egg and milk until you have a thick batter. Stir in the cauliflower pieces to coat.

  • Heat the oil in a large frying pan and drop in tablespoons of the mixture one at a time – take care not to overcrowd the pan. Cook in batches for 3-4 minutes each side.
