Ingredients
  • 750g potatoes
  • 400g shredded cabbage
  • 25g butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 12 slices streaky bacon
Method
  • Peel the potatoes and boil for 10 minutes.

  • Mash the potatoes with the butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

  • Steam the cabbage until wilted. Drain and add to the mash with an egg yolk.

  • Shape into 12 patties and place on a baking sheet. Add half a slice of streaky bacon to each. Bake at 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6 for 20-25 minutes.
