  • 100g Asda White Chocolate Chunks
  • 150g Asda Dark Chocolate (60% cocoa solids), broken into squares
  • 50g Asda Pecan Nuts
  • 150g plain flour
  • 1⁄2 level tsp baking powder
  • 100g butter (at room temperature)
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 1⁄2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large free-range egg
  • Asda White Piping Icing
  • Put the chocolate chunks in the fridge. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Line two baking trays with non-stick baking paper.

  • Microwave the chocolate in a microwavable bowl on defrost for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until melted. Leave until cold but still fluid.

  • Break the pecans into small pieces. Sift the flour and baking powder together. With a wooden spoon, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until creamy.

  • Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Add the egg and beat in.

  • Stir in the dark chocolate and flour, and add the nuts and chocolate chunks.

  • Put heaped tablespoons of the mixture on the baking trays, leaving a gap between each, and flatten with the back of a spoon. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

  • Leave for about 10 minutes so the cookies are still warm but cool enough to handle. Make a hole in each with an apple corer. Leave to cool completely.

  • Ice ‘DAD’ on each cookie with the piping and thread a ribbon through the holes.
