Ingredients
- 225g Asda self-raising flour
- 1 level tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 2 level tsp ground ginger
- 1 level tsp cinnamon
- 125g butter, chilled, cubed
- 100g soft brown sugar
- 100g golden syrup
- 100g Asda Dark Chocolate
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices. Rub in the butter, then sift in the sugar.
Heat the syrup in a small pan until just warm, then add to the flour mixture. Stir to make a stiff dough.
Shape into small balls and put on 2 lined baking trays with a space between each. Press the balls down lightly with your hand and bake for 10 minutes. Cool on the tray for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of hot water – don’t let the water touch the bowl. Drizzle the chocolate over the biscuits and leave to set.
