Indulgent and spicy hot chocolate with red wine

- 400ml Asda Extra Special Cabernet Sauvignon
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ½tsp grated nutmeg
- 2 cloves
- 1 orange, peel only
- 2tbsp golden caster sugar
- 300ml semi-skimmed milk
- 200ml single cream
- 100g Asda chosen by you plain chocolate, roughly chopped
- 1tsp Asda chosen by you cocoa
Place the red wine, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, orange peel and sugar in a medium pan, bring to the boil and simmer for 10min uncovered then strain.
Meanwhile, bring the milk and cream to the boil, remove from the heat and add the chocolate. Allow it to melt for 1min then gently stir the mixture until the chocolate is fully incorporated.
Gradually pour the wine into the hot chocolate in a steady stream, whisking continuously to prevent the mixture from separating.
Divide between 4 mugs and sprinkle on a little cocoa powder and orange zest.
