- 6 Conference pears
- 75cl bottle of red wine
- 185g caster sugar
- 100g butter
- 150g flour
- 85g sugar
Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4. Peel pears and cut a little off the bottom of each. Put upright in a pan and pour over a bottle of red wine. Add 100g sugar and simmer for 20-30 minutes. Transfer to 6 ramekins, adding 4 tbsp of the liquid to each.
Rub butter into flour mixed with 85g sugar until it looks like breadcrumbs. Spoon around the pears. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Boil the remaining cooking liquid in the pan until reducing. Serve with the crumbles.
