Ingredients
  • Asda Sugar Coated Mini Eggs, to decorate
  • 150g Asda Dark Chocolate (60% cocoa solids), broken into squares
  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 175g self-raising flour
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 125g soft brown sugar
  • 2 large free-range eggs
  • 100ml whole milk, plus 1-2 tbsp
  • 100g icing sugar
Method
  • Pre-heat the oven to 160C/140C Fan/Gas 3. Line two bun trays with paper cases. Put 100g of the chocolate, 125g of the butter and the golden syrup in a bowl and stand it over a pan of simmering water until the chocolate is melted. Remove the bowl. Set the mixture aside until cool but still liquid.

  • Sift the flour and cocoa into a bowl and stir in the sugar.

  • Lightly beat the eggs with 100ml milk. Add to the chocolate, then stir in the flour until evenly mixed.

  • Spoon into the cakes and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

  • Melt the remaining chocolate as before. Leave until cold but still liquid.

  • Beat the rest of the butter with the icing sugar and 1-2 tbsp milk until creamy. Beat in the chocolate. Spread on the cakes and decorate with mini eggs.
