With Halloween just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about those brilliant costume ideas and getting ready to fill your home with spooky Halloween decorations.

Take your Halloween décor to the next level with the sweetest trend that's taking the Internet by storm - pineapple Jack-O'-Lanterns!

Nothing says autumn festive like a carved pumpkin but this year, why not take your Halloween décor to the next level with the sweetest trend that's taking the Internet by storm - pineapple Jack-O'-Lanterns!

You might not think of this tropical fruit when it comes to autumn, but it turns out that pineapples are perfect for carving. Not to mention, it smells so yummy!

That's not to say that we're planning on replacing the traditional carved pumpkin for this year's fright fest - it's a classic for a reason. But we reckon that these pineapple beauties will look great next to our usual pumpkin display. Find out how to make your own exotic Jack-O'Lanterns below.

Making your own pineapple Halloween decoration is pretty much the same process as carving a Halloween pumpkin. To make, start by cutting off the top of the fruit and and hollowing out the inside. Remove the juice, and dry out the pineapple with a towel. Next, carefully use a pumpkin or pineapple carving knife to cut out a design (a spooky face is easiest!), place a tea light in the centre, and then just pop the top back on. Done!

Creators for these adorable tropical Jack-O'-Lanters warn that the pineapple version won't last as long as a pumpkin, so keep that in mind if you make your own!

So cute! Now the only question is what to do with all that sweet, leftover pineapple? We've got some ideas! Try a tropical twist on a classic with this pineapple meringue pie or get one of your five-a-day with this refreshing pineapple and watercress smoothie
