7 essentials you’ll probably forget to buy before Christmas

You’ve bought the Christmas turkey, most of the presents are beautifully wrapped and under the tree, and your home has been turned into a winter wonderland with all the decorations you’ve filled it with.

So why do you have that horrible feeling like you’ve forgotten something?

Well, if you're anything like us, you probably have forgotten something. But don't panic! To help you out, we’ve put together a handy guide of Christmas essentials so they don't slip your mind.

1. Extra chairs

At Christmas, at least one unexpected guest will turn up at your door and only then will it dawn on you that you haven't got enough places for your guests to sit. This year, get ahead of the game and stash away some extra seats in the garage like these kitchen stools or these dining chairs

2. Board games

Board games are just so easy to forget (or misplace) but they’re essential entertainment over the Christmas period. These games will get all the family involved and keep the kids entertained for hours upon end! If you're looking for a game for everyone, pick up Jenga or the old classic Monopoly. Bring everyone together for laugh-out-loud fun with Speak Out. And if you're on the hunt for something interactive pickup Pie Face. To play, load the throwing arm with squirty cream or a wet sponge and slide your head through the mask. Then turn the handle and pray it's not your time to get splatted!

3. Condiments

Some things just work well together and turkey is nothing without its best friend, cranberry sauce. So if there's one thing you forget this Christmas, make sure it's not this! You can stock up this season with our Extra Special Cranberry Sauce which comes with a hint of ruby port. And while you're in the condiment aisle pick up some pickles and chutneys - both perfect for leftovers and Christmas Day itself.

4. Crackers

Christmas isn't Christmas until you've pulled your first cracker, put your festive paper hat on and told your loved ones a joke. So make sure your festive celebrations go off with a bang this season with our premium red crackers

5. Festive CD mix

Set the tone this Christmas with your festive CD mix. Not only will it create a wonderful Christmassy setting but it will get all the kids up and dancing! Invest in Together Again by Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. Alternatively, Now That's What I Call Now! 98 will keep the party going and once it's over Rag and Bone Man's debut album is perfect to relax and wind down.

6. Kids DVD

It always gets to that point on Christmas Day when you just want to sit down, put your feet up and relax. To make sure you can do so whilst keeping your little ones entertained, pop on Nativity or The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol which is sure to keep the kids quiet for a couple of hours. Or you could all enjoy watching Marvel's latest movie, Wonder Woman and get lost in the fantasy science fiction world, Westworld

7. Batteries

Anyone buying toys for kids this Christmas will know you'll need batteries to avoid any tears or disappointment. Make the sensible call and stock up by choosing some from our range here
