Create the perfect on-trend nursery

Baby on the way? Congratulations!

There are a million things to tick off your 'to do list'. Decorating the nursery is one of the biggest (and the most rewarding) but it's hard to know where to start. Your little one will probably be sleeping in the same bedroom as you for the first few months, but it's nice to have their nursery ready way before you have your hands tied-up with changing nappies.

We've rounded up some of this year's most popular baby room trends to help you get started on your precious project.

Winnie the pooh

Introduce them into the magical world of Winnie the Pooh by jam packing their nursery with A. A Milne's magical character.

Ensure the sweetest of dreams with this soft and cosy Winnie the Pooh quilt which sees Pooh joined with Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger. These curtains will help send your little one off to the land of nod and finish the look with this lovable Pooh rug

Go grey

The colour grey oozes calmness and coolness, making it the ideal tranquil setting to welcome your baby into.

Go all out and deck your nursery with grey walls, flooring and furnishings like this art deco rug, knitted pouffe and this wonderful grey cot which includes smooth side rails, teething rails and the option of three base height positions.

Pastel nurserys

Pops of pastel are perfect for creating a lovely baby-friendly look for your new nursery. Plus these soft shades make any room feel light, airy and so very welcoming.

We love this heart-shaped mirror which would be a pretty addition to any bedroom. You could also help add a little character to your little one's bedroom with this playful swan rug. Not only does it look great but it would be so soft and comforting on their toes and hands, when they start crawling. Finish off your pastel-perfect nursery with this pink beanbag.

Gender neutral nursery

A 'gender neutral nursery' is a huge trend at the moment, not just for people choosing not to find out whether they’ll be blessed with a boy or a girl, but also those wanting to avoid gender stereotyping. Blue and pink are so last season!

Keep things calm with neutral colours; grey and white are perfect for any sized room or you could choose a beige or brown colour. Next, add some character with accents - think animal-themed items such as this soft sheep rug and a sheep quilt. Complete the look with a white cot and a fantastic feature chair.
