Treat your mum to a DIY spa this Mother’s Day

You don't need to shell out hundreds of pounds to treat your mum to an amazing spa treatment this Mother's Day. With a bit of preparation, you can create something just as incredible at home.

"Making at-home treatments is now accessible, affordable and effective"

Celebrity facialist Amba Logan said: “Once upon a time shopping trolley beauty buys were simply about keeping clean.

“Now the choice is endless, making at-home treatments accessible, affordable and effective."

So grab your nail polish, face masks and some candles to set the mood and you'll have a spa-like haven in no time! Lucky mum.

The wake-up facial

The promise: Say thank you with this deep-clean hydration facial that will transform her from run-ragged to radiant.

The process: First, soak cotton pads in nspa Micellar One-Step Cleanser, which uses particles smaller than water to remove make-up and dirt – you’ll be amazed by what comes off on those pads! Next, work nspa Hot Cloth Polish, all over the face using the soft muslin cloth, allowing the creamy cocoa butter and neroli oil to gently cleanse.

Then, smooth nspa Skin Glow Mud Mask, all over. Lie back in luxury for at least 10 minutes, allowing the kaolin clay to draw out impurities. Rinse thoroughly, pat dry and then smooth on nspa Beauty Rituals Ever Youthful Eye Cream, which was highly rated by the Good Housekeeping Institute scoring 79/100The miracle cream helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and will help firm up skin. Finally, use nspa Brightening Day Cream with SPF15, using your palms, pushing in from the neck upwards.

You could also try using this incredible Rio Sonicleanse Facial Cleansing and Exfoliating Brush which has a super-speedy but soft pulsing brush.

The posh pedi

The promise: A little tootsie TLC to treat tired, worn-out feet.

The process: Soak feet for 5 minutes and scrub with Bulldog Skincare For Men Original Face Scrub – the oat kernels will smooth your skin sharpish. For stubborn areas, the diamond crystal roller on the new Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Foot File will remove hard skin.

Then, use the metal file and pumice stone on the nspa Complete Foot Care File and its nail brush to clean toenails. Trim nails using the QVS Essential Grooming Kit, then paint with George Quick Dry Nail Varnish in Fuzzy Peach, using cotton wool balls to separate toes. Once dry, apply Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic.

The Express Mani

The promise: Treat your mum to neat, resilient nails so she looks on top of her game for the next two weeks!

The process: Wash and dry hands before reaching for the QVS Essential Grooming Kit. Clip nails to size, then shape using the rough side of the nail file before buffing over the nail bed with the softer side– this will help the polish stick. Then, get to work with the Sensationail Fuse Gelnamel Starter Kit, which includes an amazing one-coat gel varnish and salon-style, flash-dry mini LED lamp.

Layer on her chosen colour, placing the tip of each finger under the lamp for 30 seconds as you go. Once this is complete, massage George Dr. Corrector Cuticle Oil with Macadamia Oil, around the nails for extra pro points.
