It’s the beauty staple every girl keeps in her bag to help combat chapped lips, but that’s not the only usage for the handy blue tin of petroleum jelly.
Did you know that the clear coloured jelly can also be used to perform a range of other beauty tricks?
Vaseline, which has been around for more than 150 years, can be used to protect and heal dry skin, it can cushion minor cuts and burns, and it can also help to hydrate skin.
But did you know that the clear coloured jelly can also be used to perform a range of other beauty tricks?
Ever struggle to get rid of blackheads? Yup, Vaseline can help. And how about getting your heavy make-up off after a big night out? Again, Vaseline can be the gentle make-up remover you need.
To help you get more use out of your Vaseline, we’ve rounded up some handy beauty tips and tricks you can try with the iconic drug store buy.
1. Remove your smoky eye
Get rid of last night’s heavy eye make-up with the use of Vaseline. Simply place some of the jelly onto two cotton pads and get wiping.
2. Minimize the appearance of blackheads
Wipe some Vaseline over your affected area, cover with a piece of clingfilm, and apply two hot damp washcloths for five minutes. Once the five minutes is up, remove the washcloths and using two clean tissues gently squeeze the area to remove the blackheads.
3. Help your lashes to grow
Get the long eyelashes you've always dreamed of by routinely placing a slick of Vaseline over your lids just before you go to sleep.
4. Soothe your cracked heels
If you're looking for an easy home remedy to soothe your cracked heels, look no further than your humble Vaseline. You could smother your heels in the jelly right before you get into bed. Just don't forget to put an old pair of socks on to keep the Vaseline on your heels rather than on your sheets!
5. Highlight your cheekbones
We're all in search of that natural highlight, and with Vaseline it's possible. However, just make sure you don't go too OTT!
6. Make your perfume last longer
Place a small amount of the jelly on your wrist and neck and then splash your perfume on the same spot.
7. Make your own lip balm
Ever had a matte lipstick which you wanted to make a shiny, long lasting gloss? Try adding a swipe of Vaseline over your lips after you've already applied your lipstick for a silken finish.
