Heavily glittered lips, yellow eyebrows and ‘extreme blush’ - think Aunt Sally - are all tipped as this year’s big beauty trends according to experts and catwalk models. However, let’s be honest, if we went to work sporting any of the aforementioned we’d be laughed out the office rather than congratulated for our keen sense of style.
So we’ve ignored the trends only suitable for supermodels or the uber cool elite, and instead picked out our favourite trends that we'll be sporting all summer long.
Fashion, beauty and lifestyle destination bloggers at The Zoe Report tip 'electric eyeshadow' to be the big eye trend for spring, advising:
"Shadows in all colours of the rainbow will ring in the warm weather this spring. Wear a single bright shade on your entire lid and pair it with fresh, understated skin"

Braided top knots
ELLE magazine’s number one trend for this year is braided top knots:
“Braids are going nowhere next year, but they are being reinvented as we incorporate them into other styles. The braided top knot is fairly simple, works on medium to long hair, and helps to conceal if it's been a little while since your last shampoo. Score! To keep it modern, think less ballerina-bride and more edgy-mermaid.”
Want to get the above look? Gather hair into a top knot, leaving a chunky section of hair at the back down. Now make this remaining hair into a plait, starting from the top and sectioning downwards. When finished pull this up into the top knot and secure with an extra hairband.

Cosmopolitan is big on underliner for 2017:
“Underliner is equal parts wearable and subversive AKA just the kind of beauty risk you want to aim for in the new year. Try slashes of bright liner under the lower lash line or an upside-down cat eye painted on with glitter liner.”

Orange nail polish
The folks at beauty website Allure say:
“Orange has never been the standard-bearer of chic. But then orange became the colour of cropped eyelet tops, crushed-velvet skirts, and so many manicures. The best of them were nails the colour of freshly peeled carrots. The effect is traffic-stopping in the best possible way.”

Pinterest rounded up its top trending pins and guess what – ‘no-heat’ and ‘natural hair’ are number one of all pinned hair and beauty pictures. Good news for anyone fed up with a 5am start with straightening irons every day.
