Everyone’s favourite Duchess is well-known for her impeccable fashion sense; whether she’s breaking Royal protocol with an off-the-shoulder dress, recycling her famous nude pumps, or sparking a headband comeback, we just can’t get enough of the queen of style.
Duchess Kate's red and white printed dress with a ruffle skirt is an elegant take on the folk trend
Now on the second day of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Canadian tour, the style icon has impressed yet again. For a series of engagements in Vancouver, Duchesss Kate chose a striking, knee-length, embroidered Alexander McQueen dress. The Duchess paired the intricately-patterned ensemble with matching red court shoes and a simple clutch bag, showing off the Canadian flag's colours.
Duchess Kate's red and white printed dress with a ruffle skirt is an elegant take on the folk trend that was seen all over the runway this season. A fresh twist on the boho look, this pretty style is actually surprisingly easy to pull off (even if you aren't a royal!). Want to dip your toes into the folk trend? Embrace the 70s retro vibe with this sheer midi dress with a cinched waist and pretty floral detailing. Pair with chunky black boots and a wide-brimmed hat to complete the look.
This is first time that the Cambridges have toured as a family of four, but the Duke and Duchess left Prince George and Princess Charlotte at Government House in Victoria, which is serving as their home from home on the trip, while they took a seaplane to Vancouver.
The Duke and Duchess had a busy day in Vancouver, where they visited Sheway charity, a pregnancy outreach programme to help vulnerable mothers, as well as the Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia, where they met Syrian refugees. This was followed by a reception for young leaders in Canadian arts, business and sport and a trip to the Kitsilano Coastguard station.
More events and visits are planned for the royal couple across British Columbia and Yukon, before they fly home to the UK on October 1st.
