Frame of mind
Melissa, 21, from Scotland says, "Comparing ourselves with other people is a natural thing to do but it’s so toxic. The only way to truly love yourself is to stop caring what other people might or might not be thinking about you.
"I make sure I concentrate on doing things that make me feel good. Sometimes that’s having an early night or doing a bit of exercise to release endorphins, but more often than not it’s just focusing on being a good, kind person.
"It sounds clichéd, but if you sort out the inside it shines through to the outside. Today, I feel empowered. I relish the strength I’ve found in myself."

Felicity, 29, lives in London and is a body positivity activist.
She says, "Everything I do promotes body image and self-love. People might expect me to feel threatened standing next to women who are smaller than me, but I don’t mind at all. I love my cellulite and my scars and stretch marks because they’re all part of me.
"The things I like most about myself are my laugh and my bum – even though at school I felt it was too big! It’s not easy to love yourself – it’s a gradual process – but there are no two humans on this planet who are the same, so you need to be the best possible version of yourself."

Keep it real
Gabriella, 27, from London has a five-year-old son.
She says, "I love that we’re standing together, all different, representing all women. That message is so important: we need to love ourselves, whoever we are and whatever we look like because this is a realistic image of womanhood. Since having my son, I feel more womanly and empowered.
"This is me, take it or leave it! I’ve noticed a change in the diversity of women used in modelling campaigns and it gives me so much confidence as a young, black female. We’re definitely getting there – slowly but surely."

The long game
Nicky, 58, from Nottingham, says, "If you’d asked me how I felt about revealing my body five years ago, I would have been intimidated.
"I used to hate being so skinny and tall but now I really embrace my height, like making sure I show off my long legs. You have to look in the mirror, identify what you do have and go to town on accentuating it.
"Getting older is no bad thing, either! It’s hard but I honestly believe that if you set aside sometime every week to do something kind for yourself, whether it’s walking the dog or indulging in a hair mask, you’ll start liking yourself a little bit more."
