The biggest fashion trends for Autumn 2016

With the autumn months nearly upon us, we’ve been looking ahead of the game to suss out the biggest fashion trends coming our way.

From printed bomber jackets to military inspired boots

Cosy jackets, comfy boots and knitted layers are all annual staples of course, but what about the statement pieces? The shapes and textures set to sell out?

To get the inside scoop, we’ve turned to Pinterest.

From printed bomber jackets to military inspired boots, here are the autumn looks currently trending amongst Pinterest’s most fashion-forward pinners.

Military-style Boots

Whether they're flat or heeled, look for boots that are good for stomping in - the more laces or buckles the better.

Frilly trims

Super feminine frills are popping up on sleeves, tops and more. Look for modern shapes and keep them to one item to avoid looking dated or over-done.

Suede

Jackets, dresses, shoes; however you wear it, suede finishes are a key texture trend for the coming season.

Printed bomber jackets

Smartened-up bomber jackets have been everywhere this summer, and the trend looks set to continue through the autumn. Look for fun prints and embroidery to give your wardrobe a lift.

Patchwork denim

Fresh from the archives of the 1970s, patchwork denim is enjoying a revival. Wear it on your jeans, as a dress or on jackets, teamed with pared-down accessories.

Oversized polo necks

Super snuggly polo necks are back this autumn, and bigger than ever. Look for draped shapes to tick off both style and comfort.

Velvet

Look for velvet in regal shades to really nail this look; gold, midnight blue, purple and burgundy all look great, while black is always a classic.
