The Only Items You Need To Pack For A Staycation

Packing for a staycation can be tricky – holidaying in the UK means that there's really no guarantee of sun, so a bag of shorts and t-shirts is unlikely to suffice.

Whether you're headed to the beach, the countryside or another city, you can travel light and be prepared for all eventualities with these simple packing tips...

1. take a light sweater

Whatever you do, don't leave home without a sweater! A soft, cosy sweatshirt like this one is super practical and versatile. Wear while travelling, or roll up and squeeze into your bag for when it gets chilly. A must!

2. Plain t-shirt

Keep it simple and stylish with a plain t-shirt. Opt for a classic cut that will look just as great when thrown on with a pair of denim cut offs as it would teamed with a midi skirt and heels.

3. jumpsuit

Ultra versatile, a pretty jumpsuit or maxi dress can take you from beach to bar (with the right accessories!). Add flat sandals and sunnies for walking around town, then team with wedges and oversized earrings for a night out.

4. Sandals

Invest in a pair of comfortable sandals that you can walk around for hours in. An added bonus? They'll take up very little room in your case!

5. Espadrilles

Whether you prefer wedges, wedges or 'flatforms', it's worth throwing a pair of comfy heels into your bags. Espadrilles work with pretty much everything, and are both beach and city-friendly.

6. tote bag

Whether you're heading for the beach or the highstreet, this big mesh bag is a must. Easy to pack, this'll be handy for any grocery shopping, too!

7. Denim shorts

Denim shorts are so versatile and weekend getaway essentials. Team with a bikini for the beach or a cotton shirt for the shops.

8. Blazer

You can check the weather forecast one hundred times but until you're actually there, there's just no telling what the weather will do. Play it safe (and stylish) with a chic blazer than will keep you warm on colder days, plus look super smart on an evening out.

9. Light trousers

Whatever the weather, a pair of light trousers will be your friend. These classic linen culottes are bound to come in handy - and look great when paired with both sandals and heels.
